Our Veterinary Staff:
Herb Burns, V.M.D, Partner
 Dr. Herbert Burns is a partner at the practice. Dr. Burns graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine. He is the staff veterinarian at Blue Chip Farms and also sees appointments here at the Pine Bush Equine clinic. His interests include surgery and lameness. In his spare time, Herb enjoys spending time with his daughters, golfing and watching his Standardbred horses race.
Erik Peterson, D.V.M., Partner
Dr. Erik Peterson has been a veterinarian at Pine Bush Equine since 1998 and is a partner at the practice. Dr. Peterson is a graduate of Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine and completed his clinical training at Washington State School of Veterinary Medicine. During his tenure at Pine Bush Equine, Dr. Peterson has developed skills in reproduction, lameness, dentistry, and preventative medicine.
In his spare time, Erik enjoys skydiving.
Rachael Fiske, D.V.M., Associate
 Dr. Rachael Fiske has been a veterinarian at Pine Bush Equine since 2007. Dr. Fiske completed her veterinary degree at Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine and spent time working at an equine practice in Vermont before joining the team at Pine Bush Equine. Her special interests include preventative medicine and lameness, including Standardbred racehorse lameness. In her free time, Rachael enjoys trail running in Mohonk Preserve.
Heather Mayers, D.V.M., Associate
Dr. Heather Mayers has been with Pine Bush Equine since 2008. She is a graduate of Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine and worked in a large animal practice in upstate New York before coming to Pine Bush Equine. She has special interest in equine reproduction, geriatric medicine and preventative care. In her spare time she enjoys downhill skiing and spending time outdoors with her dogs.
Jennifer Lowry, D.V.M., Associate

Dr. Lowry attended vet school at North Carolina State University, completed a one-year internship in medicine, surgery, and lameness at a sport horse hospital in Virginia, then worked at an equine referral hospital in the San Francisco Bay area. Her special interests include emergency medicine, internal medicine, and ophthalmology. Her free time is spent riding, running, and gardening.
